NBA All-Underrated Team

The NBA is a league of stars but more times than not it is a handful of stars that get constant praise, like LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Kobe Bryant. But while we are praising these guys constantly, and rightfully so, we miss out on other guys having a tremendous season in the NBA. So to help us all show the "other guys" some love here is my All- Underrated Team.

Pg- Ty Lawson, Denver Nuggets

Ty Lawson has overcome nagging injuries in the beginning of the year to help the Nuggets repel from a sluggish start to now having the best home record and 5th best record in the west. Currently the Nuggets are on a nice 8 game winning streak and have 9 wins in their last 10 games. Those wins include a decisive win over the Clippers and a win over the Thunder in which Ty Lawson hit a game winning shot and then did the "Bernie" dance. If that isn't the best swagger move after a game winner, I don't know what is. He is also averaging 23 ppg and 7.3 apg in the last 10 games and is playing at a level that could elevate the Nuggets to a legitimate threat in the west.

Sg- Paul George, Indiana Pacers

Paul George has become the Pacers best player in the absence of Danny Granger and has been filling into that role quite nicely. The Pacers have already beaten the Heat twice with out Granger because George averaged 22 points and 8 rebounds against them. He also adds the defense against the bigger scoring threats in the NBA which is one of the reasons that the Pacers are the best defensive teams in the NBA. George may have made the All-star team but he deserves more credit for being the best player on the 2nd best team in the East.

Sf- Chandler Parsons, Houston Rockets

Chandler Parsons usually gets unnoticed behind James Hardens spectacular season and Jeremy Lin but he has played out of his mind in some games. His emergence is part of the reason that the Houston Rockets have been sort of a surprise this year and could make the playoffs. Obviously Harden and even Lin playing well of late have a big impact on the Rockets playoff chances but when Lin, Harden and  Parsons plays well the Rockets can beat anyone in the league with their combined shooting ability. Since the All-star break Parsons has averaged 20.8 ppg and although the Rockets have slipped in recent weeks it is not due to a lack of good play by Parsons.

Pf- David Lee, Golden State Warriors

David Lee is also somebody who is barely noticed but has tremendously stepped up his game. Although I thought his teammate Stephen Curry should have joined him in the All-star game it is still apparent that Curry gets most of the hype. Curry did go off for 54 points against the Knicks so that is rightfully so but Lee does the dirty work for the Warriors and has given them a low post option without having Andrew Bogut in the lineup for most of the year. Although he got hurt in fridays game he has been averaging a double double for the year with 18 points and 11 rebounds a game. He and Curry's play has led to a reemergence of Golden State and he deserves a little more credit.

C- Marc Gasol, Memphis Grizzlies

Marc Gasol has absolutely been overlooked. After the Grizzlies traded away Rudy Gay they needed their front court of Gasol and Zach Randolph to step their games up and they have. The Grizzlies were shaky directly after the trade but have rebounded in recent weeks and are 12 and 2 in their last 14. Since the All-star break he is averaging 15.8 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assist for a center which is amazing in todays game. His scoring touch, passing ability and ability to protect the rim makes him one of the more skilled and often overlooked centers in the game. The Grizzlies are currently 3rd in the west  and wont be an easy out in the playoffs the way they have been playing in recent weeks.
