This is the inaugural Bruh Report and it will hopefully make this sports blog feel a little more bloggy I guess? Not sure bloggy is a word but I think you know what I mean. We will continue to have articles that are like other professional sports website with also the hope of infusing some more down to earth blogging.
I thought about doing this because I realized that I consume a ton of sports on a nightly basis and I usually have many observations that I say to my roommate Zach. I usually say it to him because my other roommate is my girlfriend Katie and she really doesn't like sports as much. The semester is coming to an end and Zach is graduating in a week and a half so I realize I wont have anybody to say these things to soon. That's kind of sad but what better way to still express them than in a blog?
Okay I will stop boring you guys and start with some observations from last night.
1. The Charlotte Hornets versus the Chicago Bulls game on NBATV
Going into the season I thought the Charlotte Hornets where going to be good. They added Lance Stephenson and seemed like they were ready to take a leap. Instead they didn't seem "born ready" for the season. Yeah I said that lame joke that makes fun of Lance Stephenson's name. The worse part is I took from somebody that responded to this tweet.....

How did I not realize the Hornets were 4-14? Damn they should be worlds better

This game showcased their problems a lot to me. They still competed but it didn't seem as though they played as good of defense as they did last year. Also it seemed as though Lance was doing to much. It seems as if he got that money and assumed that the offense should run through him and not Al Jeffereson. You know the guy who made an All-NBA team last year. C'mon man, you're better than that. There is still hope they can pull it together since they play in the east. Oh well, at least we saw Kemba Walker destroy Nikola Mirotic....
2. The Duke vs Wisconsin basketball game.
I did watch the Arrow and Flash crossover at 8, which is a great show if you are a comic book/super hero nerd like I am. But after I figured I would watch the Duke v. Wisconsin game. I fully expected Duke to win because I saw Duke play earlier in the year and they just looked better than this Wisconsin team that I mostly remember from the tourney last year. I really wanted to see how good Jahlil Okafor looked.
The whole Duke squad is good so they don't have to rely on him as much but my first impressions kind of remind me of Tim Duncan. Now that is a lofty comparison and he only had 13 points and 6 rebounds but his game just seemed so similar. He was really patient in the post, bullied some guys with his size and even had a patented Tim Duncan bank shot. We haven't seen many big guys with this kind of skill set recently. A lot of the big guys have been athletic energy and shot blocking guys. He will definitely go 1 in the NBA draft probably and it will be interesting to see another back to the basket center in a league that has kind of gone away from that.
It is also funny that the worst team in the NBA (The 76ers) are also the team that drafted centers in back to back years.
There is already rumors that the Sixers would trade Nerlens Noel to maybe the Cavs. That trade makes sense because the Cavs need rim protection badly and there is no way Noel can play power forward full time when Embiid comes back. I'm also sure the sixers would rather try Embiid and Okafor together thant Noel and Embiid.
3. Speaking of the Philadelphia 76ers... They got a win tonight.
The 76ers finally got a win and avoided starting with the worst record in NBA history. I absolutely did not watch the game but I wasn't surprised at all that it came against the Timberwolves who have been playing truly bad defense all year. That isn't the important part though.
Following the win there was a series of tweet about it that were pretty awesome. Their was one from the account @didthesixerswin.

The best was from Joel Embiid, who should be an automatic follow for anybody that thinks it's refreshing when a professional athlete is silly as hell. His tweet was awesome and I'm glad the Sixers are happy with their ONE win.

Other smaller observations:
- I really can't believe the Houston Rockets beat the Memphis Grizzlies. Especially without Dwight Howard.
- Monte Ellis' game winning shot against the Bucks looked like a travel to me. Also I hate how Jason Kidd is using Jabari Parker but amazed that they are playing pretty well.
- Not going to dive into the Johnny Manziel/Hoyer/Brows talk but nice to see the team that fired a head coach after a season stick to their Quarterback even if he has thrown 1 TD to a buttload of interceptions the last few games.
- The Nets bet the Spurs? Woah. I still hate Danny Green for no real reason. Also if the Nets and Spurs played in a Finals series (never going to happen) it would be the blackest (jersey'd) series of all time!
- Listened to an OKC Thunder Podcast and just saying I'm not worried about them making the playoffs.
- Kobe is Kobe but I definitely watch Laker highlights to see Swaggy P do Swaggy P things and that encompasses so many things that include and don't include basketball. Also does Iggy go to the games?
- I guess Tiger Woods is back. I still believe in you but you got to win a major homie.
- Who doesn't Love Jimmy V week? Just asking.
- Cody Zeller had a dunk over Pau Gasol in that Hornets v. Bulls Game. I mean he straight banged on him. I feel like that's the first time I saw him do something since his second to last year at Indiana. Also of course it was on Pau Gasol, he's the king of getting dunked on.
- I'm going to end this being a nerd again and say the Flash and Arrow 2 night crossover shows were great and you should really check those shows out if you remotely like anything to do with superheroes
